Fabulous Frames
was established in 1996.
We are very fortunate to be situated on the beautiful, historic Upper St. Giles Street, in the shadow of St. John's Cathedral and pleased to be the first independent trader of the Norwich Lanes as you approach the city centre from the southwest.
We offer a comprehensive service for framing individual pieces, exhibitions and larger scale projects. Our experienced staff will be pleased to advise you on all aspects of the services we provide.
We offer ranges from five of the UK's leading moulding manufacturers, enabling us to offer our customers an extensive range of styles and colours and only use materials that are guaranteed to have been sourced responsibly.
If you need advice on any aspect of your framing order, our staff will be pleased to help.
We can recommend the most suitable materials for your framing project, from posters to valuable works of art.
Our retail area stocks an extensive range of greetings cards, small ready-made frames, exclusive gift items and an eclectic mix of paintings, prints, textiles, ceramics and giftware by local artists.
Prints, paintings, notecards and more!
We are pleased to announce that we are working in close association with Maná Gallery of
Aylsham. Together, we feature an artist of the month, with work displayed in both venues.
This has proved to be a very successful collaboration. In addition to exhibiting established artists, we have been able to introduce many bright new talents.
For more information on the artists we feature, please follow the link to Maná Gallery below.
This months featured artist is Lesley Munro.
Lesley's work is inspired by her love of open spaces, light, colour and vast skies, and at the outset there is no fixed form in her mind. She uses sketchbook studies and drawings as a starting point for her explorations of composition through material textures, line and colours with each painting undergoing constant change until the balance and harmony of the composition is right.Lesley's work is inspired by her love of open spaces, light, colour and vast skies, and at the outset there is no fixed form in her mind. Lesley moved to South Norfolk from Scotland 8 years ago and lives in a quiet village where her studio overlooks an expanse of Common.
Originally from Scotland and having gained a BA(Hons) at Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee, (DJCAD) after spending many years in art education both in Scotland and England she embarked on a full- time career as an artist. I'm an associate member of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists and The Society of East Anglia Water-colourists - winning the RSW Presidents 2020 award for one of my paintings and in February 2022 the Daniel Smith award for use of colour. Lesley has shown her work in a selection of venues and galleries in East Anglia, St Ives, Wimbledon and The RSW 2023 exhibition at the Mall galleries, London.
Kate Elgood's gorgeous seashells are sourced from restaurants and beaches. They are cleaned, sterilised, hand decorated, sealed and finished with copper paint, some adorned with keys, mini shells and natural twine, ready to hang. Perfect for wedding placements/favours, beach or bathroom decor, tree hangings, or trinket/jewellery dishes. They make a wonderful gift! Check out her Instagram page Oysters and Ink, or www.kateelgoodart.com for more of her beautiful work.
